Cosmic Oneness, Ecology and the Soul
An opportunity to reflect on the emerging awareness of cosmic unity (that the cosmos itself is the primary process that connects all that is into a single living network) and the soul's hunger for intimacy with God, the mystical foundation of all religion and human spiritual seeking. We now know that the universe is a 13.5 billion year process, and continues: creation is cosmogenesis. Our human meaning and fulfillment cannot be grasped apart from this ongoing process of creative love: we are the cutting edge of evolution, and our awareness and our choices are the essential future of this "divine milieu."
Robert Ludwig continues questioning in his quest for meaning and love. Now 73, he has retired to his roots in DesMoines, Iowa, where he grew up with eight brothers and sisters. His journey led him to value spiritual experience, social and political advocacy, friendship, community and knowledge. With his wife of 44 years, Kathleen, they have three adult children and two grandchildren. Bob spent his life working in higher education, in ministry, teaching, writing, and administration. Most recently he served for ten years at Loyola University Chicago's Institute of Pastoral Studies as full professor and director. He has taught at the Institute for Adult Spiritual Renewal, Creighton University's Masters in Christian Spirituality, and the Sophia Center at Holy Names University n Oakland, California.
